Liam Ó Maonlaí

Few performers embody the full breadth of Irish music like Liam Ó Maonlaí. As frontman of Hothouse Flowers he took songs born from Grafton Street busking to the world’s biggest stages, fronting one of the most successful Irish debut albums of its era. As a sean-nós singer, pianist, whistle player and bodhrán man, he carries the older stream of the tradition just as naturally, and he has spent decades collaborating across every border music has. A performer who can hold a room with a grand piano or the tap of a foot — and often does both in the same song. Expect anything in a church with an organ in Castlebar!
