Slyrydes + Ispíní na hÉireann + Grand Festival Finale with the WXW All-Stars

Galway’s Slyrydes make post-punk with the safety catch off: unsparing, articulate songs about mental health, class and small-town Ireland, delivered by one of the most confrontational and compelling live acts in the country. Born out of the session scene around Dublin’s fabled Cobblestone pub, Ispíní na hÉireann — The Sausages of Ireland — are a trad-folk-punk collective who play the ballad tradition like the roof is on fire. Three albums in — The Hard Working Men, Worse Things Than Dying and Poxtail Soup — they’ve built a devoted following for shows that are equal parts session, gig and glorious riot. Every good festival should end the way every good night in the west ends: everyone in the one room, the band refusing to stop, and at least one song sung by four hundred people who only met this weekend. The WXW Big Band closes the festival with a huge finale — expect borrowed guests from across the bill, big arrangements, bigger choruses, and the strong possibility that nobody goes home on time.
