Barry Brennan

Barry Brennan is Venture Partner with Elkstone, is a member of a number of Portfolio Boards and leads the Elkstone’s Venture Advisory Panel. Previously he was Founder of CapF9 Ventures which was a finance consultancy focused on working with early stage technology companies. He is also an Independent Non-Executive Director on a number of boards in the finance and insurance sector in Ireland. 

Prior to founding CapF9 Ventures, Barry worked as a lawyer and investment banker in

London and Dublin.

Barry has extensive experience in the start-up arena. He has arranged funding for, led Investment Syndicates and invested in a range of early stage and scaling technology companies in Ireland, the UK and the US, across AgTech, Digital Health, FinTech, B2B SaaS, Cyber Security, E-Commerce and RegTech sectors.

Barry is also an angel investor, a business mentor for Enterprise Ireland (Ireland’s Government Investment Agency) as well as being a mentor on various international Start Up Programs like Tech Nation (UK), Start Up Boost (Global) and Intertrade Ireland.

He holds a LL.B. (Hons) Bachelor in Law from Trinity College, Dublin and a BSc (Hons) in Digital Technology, Design and Innovation from the Technological University of Dublin. He was admitted as a Barrister-at-law in England and Wales and as an Attorney-at-law at the New York State Bar and also holds a Diploma in Corporate Governance from the Institute of Directors.
