Bill Whelan

Bill Whelan is an internationally acclaimed Irish composer, producer and musician, best known as the composer of Riverdance. Originally created for the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest, Riverdance became a global stage phenomenon and earned Bill a Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album. His career spans music for theatre, film, television and orchestra, alongside collaborations with artists including U2, Van Morrison, Kate Bush and Planxty. A native of Limerick and now based in County Galway, Bill’s work is celebrated for bringing Irish musical traditions to audiences around the world.
