Dr David Robert Grimes

Dr David Robert Grimes is a scientist, author and broadcaster specialising in biomedical science, public health, oncology, medical statistics and health disinformation. He has lectured at the University of Oxford, Queen’s University Belfast, Dublin City University and Trinity College Dublin, and advises media organisations worldwide on science communication and disinformation.
His first book, The Irrational Ape: Why We Fall for Disinformation, Conspiracy Theory and Propaganda, was an Irish Times Top 5 bestseller and was published in the US as Good Thinking. David has contributed to publications including The Guardian, The New York Times, Scientific American, The Atlantic, The Observer and The Irish Times, and has appeared on BBC, RTÉ and PBS.
He was awarded the 2014 Sense About Science/Nature Maddox Prize and was inducted as a Fellow of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry in 2022.
