Willie Ruane

Willie Ruane is the CEO of Connacht Rugby since 2014, overseeing a significant transformation of the organisation. During his tenure, Connacht secured its first major trophy with the historic 2015/16 Guinness PRO12 victory, while Willie has also played a central role in the redevelopment of Dexcom Stadium.

A native of County Mayo, Willie is a former Connacht Rugby player who also represented Ireland at Colleges and Under-21 level, as well as playing for the Barbarians. Before returning to Connacht as CEO, he spent 15 years in the banking sector, most recently as a Director within Ulster Bank’s Business Restructuring Division.
